June is Pride Month! Happy Pride, everyone!!

Sorry we’re a bit late to the party! I’ve been dealing with some non-work stress but that’s all past and it’s time to celebrate Pride! This month snuck up on me as here in Austin we celebrate pride in August (unsurprising considering how hot it is here in June). Here at Strange Bedfellas we are both members of the LGBT+ community and are very excited to celebrate this month! We know a lot of our friends and customers are members of the community as well and it’s awesome to get to show some support!

We’ve got a whole lot of toys ready to drop into inventory tomorrow (June 8th) and a good lot of them are rainbows! Shimmer rainbows! Pastel rainbows! Glow-in-the-dark rainbows! Definitely something for everyone! Stop by the store around 4 PM central time to get your hands on these colorful selections!

But we’re not just here to toss rainbow friends at you. In honor of Pride month, and in the spirit of supporting the community that’s been so good to us, we’re going to be donating $5 of every toy sold from our shop in the month of June to a local non-profit organization that supports the LGBT+ community here in our home in Central Texas. Once the month ends we’ll gather up the total and send it to Out Youth!

Folks are welcome to make their own private donation to this or any helpful LGBT+ non-profit organization for Pride month (and really any time of year)! We will post screenshots of the number of toys sold and the proof of donation here at the end of the month 😀 We at Strange Bedfellas are super excited to give back this Pride!

I gotta say something I wish sellers wouldn’t do is deprecate their pours. Sometimes I’ll see a beautiful pour but immediately get turned off from buying it when the seller describes the color as “a failed attempt” or something along those lines. It almost makes me feel like I’m buying a flawed item. It’s beautiful the way it is, no need to say that! :(

FINALLY!

We’ll be releasing medium Stromboli in our next drop, 6/7 at 6PM CST. This is going to be a super small drop of mainly medium stombos, and I apologize! The time of the week I usually dedicate to making toys was taken over by a perfect storm of bad life events (it’s all better now, no worries). I could push the drop back a week but I think I’ll just let this drop be small and next one will be full steam ahead with some Pride colors.

As a last note, I think a few of you noticed I haven’t properly updated the tumblr’s “model section“ with Stromboli. That’s because I’m lazy as hell working on getting an Empire website going. The tumblr will still exist, we’ll still be on Etsy, but the site will fill the niche of gathering all our measurements and other toy info.

I had really hoped to be able to open the store by Pride Month – as a nonbinary lesbian, it’s an important time for me. But the truth of the matter is that whenever you plan in advance for something, something else will inevitably go wrong, and in my case, that second thing is a worsening of my scolosis.

It’s nothing that threatens my life, as far as I’m aware, but it does mean that doing most things causes a great deal of pain, and I am not confident in my ability to create products worthy of selling in this state. I’m starting physical therapy soon, so hopefully my pain will ease back into a manageable state in the coming weeks or months, but I’m afraid that, in the meantime, there won’t be much in the way of physical item progress.

To offset this, I’m reopening the Polaris Patreon; I’ll be posting concept art of characters and toys, and those that pledge to it will get an equivalent discount to the store products once I’m in better shape and able to properly provide them.

I’m really sorry to those who have been waiting for more progress updates; I assure you, I’m just as upset about it. But living with chronic conditions is like that sometimes, so I just hope this isn’t going to be too much of a setback.

This is just a pet peeve of mine but I hate when toy makers offer little to no mini sizes. I love their models and I’d love to support them but I can barely use a small! I think it would really help their sales by including mini sizes too.

I noticed Akifu Toys is on the black list, but the link to the material is broken. If there isn’t any, shouldn’t they be on the regular list? What’s going on with that?

1. A broken link doesn’t mean that nothing happened, it means that something happened but the link broke.

2. I just checked the page ( http://fantasytoymasterlist.tumblr.com/akifutoys ) and the links are all working for me.

Fairy Lust Toys has pokemon themed stuff (renamed “poke & moan”, but with obvious references to the series), so idk if that would count as problematic or not. That being said, I didn’t plan on sending an ask about that. I wanted to know if you knew of an alternative to Bad Dragon’s Crash or Spritz toys. Any help would be great!

(Sorry that this is so late! I’ll check out that ASAP)

As for alternatives, I think this is another question I’ll have to turn to the followers! I’m afraid I’ve been somewhat out of the loop.

I cant figure out why bad dragon is bad ? All of the links I try to click on your blog dont lead anywhere. Is there a link that still works ?
